Editing and Proofreading
From Draft to Publication
Every great book has a moment before it becomes the best version of itself. Sometimes it's a breakthrough chapter. Sometimes it's a fresh perspective. And sometimes, it's the right editor.
JASON LETTS edited Amanda Hocking's Trylle series, which sold millions of copies and hit the New York Times bestseller list, and David Dalglish's The Weight of Blood. He holds an MA in English, taught composition at university level, and has over 200 five-star reviews as a top-rated Reedsy editor.
You’ve poured your creativity onto the page, taking an important step in bringing your vision to life and sharing your voice with the world. But no one can be their best without expert support and guidance. Collaborating with a professional editor is a chance for you to learn and grow along your writing journey while helping your work reach its potential.
Our professional editing team, led by New York Times bestselling editor Jason Letts (real people—not AI) carefully reviews your manuscript and offers feedback and corrections that will get your text ready for readers.
Fast and Reliable Turnaround
We understand you’re eager to publish your book. Don’t settle for editors who make you wait months to get started or then take months to complete an editorial pass. For authors, time is money.
We anticipate returning edited manuscripts to authors within 21 days of the order date, although this may vary depending on:
-
Manuscript length
-
Current editing state
-
Our existing workload
* We’ll confirm your estimated completion date once we’ve reviewed your manuscript.
Editing fees are charged on a per-word basis, the type of service required, and the genre. A 50% deposit is required when placing the order, based on your selections in the order form, but we’ll confirm the final quotation before any work begins. Once the edited manuscript has been returned, we will provide an invoice for the outstanding balance.
